'Untitled', 2020

I'd love to hear peoples thoughts and first impressions.

This experiment started much like 'Bulge' did. I was planning on using half the amount of fabric as 'Bulge' and then adding more flour to the work, however as the bungee cord stretched further then I expected I ended up with a smaller version on 'Bulge' basically.

I'm unsure how I feel about the volume of this piece, in some respects it works and in others it does not. I think it is its location, if I was able to see this work in a smaller space it may look better. I'll have to see what locations are available for me to experiment with in the future.

However, I choose to add these two side tights to almost represent arms for me. I see the main body of the work as my body and my confidence and the two arms on the sides are holding myself up and fighting on, even through all of the self doubt and pressure society puts upon us to feel we need to change ourselves to fit in. Although others have mentioned that they see the work as a catapult. So, it really is up to yourself to view my work as you like.
