So I've finally been able to get a decent photo of my boundaries project finished art. I decided to base my project all around not only the importance of talking about your emotions but also the importance of listening to the person.
My art includes me talking through a voice recorder which was playing out through the speakers. I read out the letter I wrote 10 minutes after I found out my Uncle Karl had passed away a few days after my Nan's funeral. I chose to have the volume low, however the base as high as I can, so I can ask the viewer to wear ear defenders to make them listen properly to that I am saying, by touching the speakers or simply just listening really closely. I decided to have the room darkly lit and have the wires shown all mixed up at the back to show not only the seriousness of the topic but also to reflect how I felt at the time, confused, scared and upset. The microphone is at the back of the wires to show how hard it personally was for me to even talk about my emotions as I usually find it hard to reach out for help. The light at the top shinning down on everything is representing how I overcome all of my emotions and spoke about how I was feeling. And this is what I'm trying to emphasise, the importance of how listening and talking can change a person's life. (Photo lighting is bad sorry)
