The relief to finally get all of this done for today is unbelievable, turns out the painting took a lot longer than I thought, but it was really interesting to experiment further in my practice about the pressures on society in a different medium.
Incorporating objects within the studies, I was able to link my normal practice and the portraits really well in my opinion. I particularly like the white on white. It emphasises how the pressures on looking perfect are made up, they are felt because we put it on ourselves, it's not an emotion to feel ugly, there is no such thing. I really would love to experiment further with painting within my practice moving onto my last year in the BA fine arts course in Plymouth when I'm back.
