Experimental performance- based on the idea of a bystander.

(I have been having a lot of problems with the recordings and how I could post them, so sorry for the bad quality.)

So this performance involved 2 performers. One being a bystander. And the other being a attacked (the person who follows the wig with the light). The audience of groups of 3-5 decide between them who will be wearing the wig when entering the room. As they enter the attacker focuses on the person who is different e.g. the person who is wearing a wig.

I found the performance as a dramatic point in my project. It showed many flaws and achievements in the idea and the performance itself. What I found the most interesting was the way the audience member who had the wig on reacted. The way she never noticed the attacker and when she did, she sort of froze... I have realised many interesting concepts and ways in which I can further this performance. However I am not sure whether I am keen on having a performance as my final outcome as of yet.

○The light- represents a attack, isolating a person.

○The wig- represents standing out and rebelling against society and hos it can feel when you cant change who you are, but you are being attacked for it. ( got the influence from the way drag queens wear bright wigs.)

○The other members of the audience- are the bystanders along with the other performer. As they like I expected just watched, as a bystander would.

○The other performer- you can see in my next post the outfits and objects which were present with both performers and a bit of an explanation about them. This will hopefully explain the idea a little better.
