After entertaining the idea of exploration with new materials, I finally had the time to explore flour in a new form; dough. At first the dough formed and interacted with touch from individuals very well, however as the days went on the dough was exposed to air and therefore became tougher and less interactive. At that point the work became interesting in another respect. It almost became a sculpture which was pretending to be a previous form of itself. The dough set in such a way which to the naked eye the dough was freshly made and squeezable, however when they would go to touch it, the sculpture revealed its true colours and was strong and stable.

Personally at this stage in my Degree I am choosing to focus on flour in its original form as I believe I have unfinished experiments to explore with further at this time in my practice. However, I do not think this will be the last time flour becomes dough within my practice, I will just have to wait and see to know when I will chose to introduce dough back within my works.

(UPDATE: All the flour which is used in my projects was purchased previously to Covid-19 and I have done all I can to recycle all the flour I am using.)
